16 months
Tuesday, April 17th, 2007April 6th is gone. It is amazing how certain dates stick with you. It was that same date last year that Trey was listed on the organ donor waiting list. It is a special day, yet a date I’ll never forget, full of emotions, happiness and being scared.
Trey had a clinic visit almost 2 weeks ago in Omaha. The biggest disappointment was Trey not gaining any weight in 6 weeks. He weighed in at 21.7, putting him at the 8% on the charts. We are to keep feeding him as much as possible and push the vit D milk hard. He hasn’t been a fan of milk but now that it is being flavored with strawberry and chocolate he is drinking it better. He does have great days of eating. He will be continuing with labs every 2 weeks, and being weighed every 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the medicine Trey hates the most he has to continue taking and may have to forever. It is a new one he was put on a couple months ago to bring up his CO2 (Bicarb) level. We are happy to report his liver numbers are continuing to go down and heading to the normal range. He has also been fighting bottom issues and they say that is due to his bile and the way his liver is processing it. Hopefully we can get that solved because he isn’t happy with a burning bottom. If all goes good no visit for 2 months.
Trey finally has gotten the ok to have his 12 month shots tomorrow. (4 months late) We hope they don’t make him too cranky.
Trey enjoyed Easter, dying Easter eggs and finding them. A couple weeks ago he got to experience his 1st camping trip and he loved every minute of it. He loves being outside! Today he went to the zoo with his sisters and they all had fun. He loved watching the Red Pandas, who were actually very active. Another favorite was the train. His face lit up when it started moving. He wants to run everywhere and get into everything. We discovered he can now get caps off of markers. The girls have a nice drawing on their bedroom carpet.
We hope everyones year is going great and that you had a Happy Easter!
