Summer update
Tuesday, August 26th, 2008The end of July we attended the transplant reunion in Omaha. We all had a great time and channel 7 interviewed us and ran a story that night.
Trey continues to stay healthy. Omaha has decided it is time to look further into his stool issues. Last week they tested the fats in his stool and tested his blood for celiac disease and yesterday both came back negative. We are waiting for word from Omaha on when and what they want to scope. His teeth are not in good shape. The dentist would like to put him out and perform and hour and half of work on them. The medicines he takes have not been kind to his teeth.
He continues to improve on his speech and two weeks ago he very clearly started saying Emma and Anna along with more new words.
The girls had their 1st full day of school yesterday and Trey has been bored and causing trouble. He likes to see how far he can push me and what he can get away with. The girls really like their teachers.
We spent some time at the state fair last weekend and one of the highlights was we all got see a baby goat being born. We later learned the mom had 4 babies. We also got to see and hold baby pigs that were only 13 hours old, baby calves only 8 hours old and hold baby chicks. Grandma and grandpa Gulzow went with us one day.
Anna celebrated her 6th birthday on August 1st. She had a large dolphin cake that we brought to Spalding. We spent a few days in Spalding with the Rott family who had a large family gathering and we celebrated Francis, from Maryland, 70th birthday and mom got to meet some cousins older than her whom she has never met before. We went canoeing and the girls had a blast and we also attended the Spalding fair while we were there.
The girls got to attend the B-D picnic with grandma Buettner on another weekend and had a great time. Anna climbed a rock wall and when she almost reached the top she lost her footing and ended up hanging upside down. Trey, mom and dad went and saw great grandma Buettner in Cedar and the next day we went to Zach’s baptism. We stopped by great grandma and grandpa Sacketts and we were disappointed they weren’t home.
We are planning a couple more camping trips before we park the camper for the winter.
